FAQ
What do I do first?
The first thing you should do is browse around the site and peek through my galleries. The images represented in the galleries are the type and style of images you will get out of a session with me. Be sure this is the style of session you are looking for. I do not do a lot of formal posing or backdrop images. I want you to love your images, so if you love what you see, then please contact me so we can set up a session!
Do you travel?
I hold sessions in Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Muskegon, Holland, Grand Rapids and the surrounding areas.
Do you have a studio?
I am a natural light, on-location photographer. This means I do not have a studio, nor do I typically use any sort of artificial light sources. Most often I prefer to hold sessions outdoors. In instances where outdoors is not a great option (newborn sessions, winter sessions) I will most often come to your home for the session.
How can I schedule a newborn session when I don’t know what day the baby will be born?
Sessions day and time for newborn sessions is always flexible. I ask that you contact me well before your baby is born to ensure that I set aside a session slot for you near your due date. Then when baby is born, I ask that you contact me as soon as you are home from the hospital, as I prefer to hold newborn sessions with the first 10 days of life, so I can capture the curly, sleepy newborn poses that you see in my galleries.
I’m only going to be in town a few days. How do we schedule a session for while we are there?
Many of my clients come to the area for a vacation on the beach, and are looking for photographs on the beach setting while in town. If this sounds like you, the very first thing you should do is contact me as soon as possible to set up your session. Summer can be a very busy time for me, and session slots typically fill up quickly. We will work out a date and time fairly early in your stay, which will give us a chance to reschedule for later in your stay in case of rain.
Do you sell digital files of the images?
I do. I know how important it is for myself to be able to back up the memories in my photos, and also to have the freedom to make prints whenever I want. I want you to have that as well. I have several choices in digital collections. Digital images can also be purchased individually.
What is a mini session?
Occasionally I will offer special mini-sessions. A mini session is a shortened and smaller version of a full session. It will last about 25-30 minutes (versus 1-2 hours in a full session) and you will receive a limited amount (8-10) proofs to choose from, versus the typical 25-30. Mini sessions are only available under special offers, with the exception of the mini-maternity/newborn package.
Do you photograph weddings?
At this time I do not photograph weddings.
Where can I see your pricing guide?
Basic pricing information is available here. Please contact me for a full pricing guide.
How much do your clients normally spend?
My clients typically budget between $400-$800 for a photo session. Some spend more, some spend less. Individual totals will vary greatly depending on what type of prints and products you are interested in.
