Session Information
I am primarily a natural light, on location photographer, so your session can happen just about anywhere. A favorite local park or empty lot, the gorgeous beach, downtown, the familiar surroundings of your home or backyard, really anywhere you choose. If you don’t have a location in mind, that’s ok! Contact me and we can discuss some options and I will help you choose a location that is perfect for you. Newborn sessions will most often happen in your home.
My goal for the session is to capture your family or your children naturally, the way you really are every day. I strive to capture emotions, fun, love, so I like to keep things comfortable and relaxed. I will ask you to just be you, and pretend I’m not around for much of the session. I might as you to play with your kids, to take a stroll, to sit together and read a book. My hope is that you will leave a session feeling like everyone had a great time!
Most sessions will last between one and two hours. I schedule plenty of time for your session so that we can take breaks, have drinks or snacks, change diapers, or whatever else your children might need to be comfortable. I will never rush you, and I will not leave until I feel I have captured your true personalities and family dynamics.
Newborn sessions take generally three or four hours, giving me ample time to ensure baby is comfortable, happy, well fed and hopefully sleeping! The extra time will help create a stress-free session so I can capture every tiny detail of your precious bundle. Newborn sessions should take place within the first ten days of life. Please contact me prior to delivery so we can tentatively plan a session near your due date.
The session fee includes your immediate family (parents and their children), or up to four people. If you would like to include others in your session, please advise me ahead of time. I ask that only those being photographed attend the session (of course if you only want your children photographed mom and dad are welcome). Having extra people around is very distracting to young children and adds stress to the situation. Also I ask that no other cameras be used at your session, as this is also very distracting to children and to me. I want your images to be the best we can possibly get!
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have. I look forward to discussing your session with you!
