Thanks for stopping by! My name is Michelle Matz, and I am a child and family photographer in Grand Haven, MI and surrounding areas. I am also mom to two sweet things that inspire me every day. I'm a simple kind of girl and I take that approach with my photography as well. I love to capture your life, your family, your children, simply. Naturally. Just the way you are. meet mine | Grand Haven newborn photographer

It is often said amongst photographers who are also mothers that it is incredibly difficult to photograph your own newborn. There are different theories out there for why it seems to be so difficult, and I now have my own theory. Personally, I’d rather snuggle my own sweet baby than photograph her.

But I know from photographing all my wonderful clients that the images are going to be important to me some day, so without further ado, I am pleased to introduce to you my own sweet baby J. Just 5 days old.

I have been wanting to get a few shots of my two, before they become three in just a few weeks. And my nephew just recently turned 18 months, so we got together at the old barn for a combined photo shoot. It was a gorgeous morning, and while my two didn’t cooperate as well as I had hoped, I still got a few great images. My nephew, on the other hand, spent all morning hamming it up for me!
