fall and holiday sessions | Grand Haven Photographer

I have really been enjoying my leave and spending the summer focusing on my family. It has been so busy, trying to keep with with my now three kids! But a good busy.

As much as I have been enjoying my leave though, I’m also getting the itch to get out and photograph some lovely families, children, and babies again! So I am now booking sessions, starting in October. October is such a lovely time here in West Michigan, it truly is a perfect time to get those family portraits done! Session spaces are limited, so be sure to book early.

On a related note, I have decided to not offer holiday mini sessions this year. There is just too much going on with my family this fall! Instead, everyone that books a session this fall will receive with their order their choice of either a complimentary digital holiday card with an image from the session OR one (1) digital image at 40% off ($36). The digital card must be chosen from one of my designs and can be printed as 5×7 photos at the photo lab of your choice. The digital image will include a full print release.

Remember that sessions are limited, so book early!

I forgot how busy life is with a newborn!

I took so many photos of J when she was just a few days old, and am just now getting a chance to process them. I have so many images that I just adore, so I wanted to share a few more. Enjoy!

It is often said amongst photographers who are also mothers that it is incredibly difficult to photograph your own newborn. There are different theories out there for why it seems to be so difficult, and I now have my own theory. Personally, I’d rather snuggle my own sweet baby than photograph her.

But I know from photographing all my wonderful clients that the images are going to be important to me some day, so without further ado, I am pleased to introduce to you my own sweet baby J. Just 5 days old.

I have been wanting to get a few shots of my two, before they become three in just a few weeks. And my nephew just recently turned 18 months, so we got together at the old barn for a combined photo shoot. It was a gorgeous morning, and while my two didn’t cooperate as well as I had hoped, I still got a few great images. My nephew, on the other hand, spent all morning hamming it up for me!

Family sessions are by far my favorite, and I had the pleasure of photographing one of my favorite families last week. I have really enjoyed watching these boys grow since I first photographed them almost two years ago! We had a great time exploring the old barn and the surrounding fields. I thoroughly enjoy their curiosity and the conversations I had with these two. They certainly kept me on my toes, but I think my big pregnant self did a pretty good job keeping up!

I seriously love my job. I get to meet so many interesting and great people. I met up with Kyle and his mom recently to take some portraits. Kyle is graduating this spring, and it was such a pleasure to meet him and get to know him a little bit. He reminded me of a friend I had when I was in high school. I have only a limited number of sessions remaining for this spring and summer. I am now booking into April and May, with 2 sessions available for each month. I also have one session available in early June. If you are thinking about getting portraits done this spring or are expecting a baby this spring or early summer, please book now so that I can get you in.

I will not be taking on any sessions for the summer after the first week of June as I will be going on maternity leave.
